Philippa Saunders works on medicines' access, management and rational use of drugs issues. She is the director of the Essential Drugs Project, an NGO advisory service with a focus on these topics. She is also a consultant to the UK government aid agency DFID, and is currently involved with a DFID funded programme that aims to improve access to essential medicines in Africa through the collaborative efforts of WHO, HAI Africa and other partners.
