February, 2000 James Love contacted the office of John Spotila, Administrator of OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), asking for a meeting on the request for an executive order dealing with putting federal contracts on the Internet. The call as prompted by President Clinton's Feb 8, 2000 letter, where he indicated that OIRA would undertake a review of this request. CPT faxed a copy of the President's letter to John Spotila's office.
June 6, 2000 Vergil Bushnell of CPT talked to Amy Squires, special assitant to the Administrator, OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA). Vergil asked about the status our earlier request to meet with OIRA Administator John Spotila. Amy Squires told Vergil that OIRA had not yet received any communication from the President on this issue. Ms. Squires did acknowledge that OIRA was aware that we had contacted OIRA earlier about the President's February 8 letter.

June 15, 2000 Vergil Bushnell talked to Amy Squires, special assistant to the Administrator, OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) to follow up on CPT's eariler requests. Ms. Squires informed Vergil that OIRA Administrator John Spotilla had received a copy of CPT's June 6, 2000 letter to President Clinton. Vergil invited Mr. Spotilla to the July meeting of the Washington, D.C. E-commerce Roundtable to speak on OIRA's work on e-commerce, and the placing of government contracts on the Internet.
