Open Letter to AOL, from the Open Source Initiative. This plea
was written by Eric Raymond.
- November 25, 1998 Steve Case,
email to Jamie Zawinski, indicating he was "very
supportive" of continued support for Mozilla. Mr. Case
sent a similar letter to Eric Raymond. However, in our own discussions
with AOL, AOL has rejected the our invitation to specify its level
of future suport for the Mozilla project. It is also pretty
clear that AOL intends to release non-open source versions of the
communicator code in "next generation" browsers.
